Our proven track record in open cast mining provides a comprehensive fleet of mobile plant and enormous experience enabling us to provide a full range of services into the mining, quarrying, and other mineral extraction industries:
The Group has extensive experience in open cast mineral extraction having delivered projects including soil and overburden stripping, load and haul, materials handling and processing and onward logistics at numerous locations with overburden volumes more than 10 million cubic metres per site per year.
Specific Load and Haul Contracts. Hargreaves has a proven track record in the aggregates sector including a 6m tonnes per annum contract at Glensanda, one of the largest quarries in the UK.
Tungsten West has appointed Hargreaves to be its principal mining contractor at Hemerdon Mine in Devon. During the 10-year contract, Hargreaves’ mining fleet will handle over 100m tonnes of granite ore and overburden, and primary crush over 30mt of granite ore. Hemerdon Mine is the fourth largest proven tungsten deposit in the world, set to form the centre of the new mining industry in the south-west of the UK.
