We are pleased to announce we have a vacancy for a Supervisor to support the aggregate operation based on the Port at ABP, Killingholme.

The Supervisor role exists to supervise the stockyard management and control of an aggregate’s operation based on the Port at ABP. The role is responsible for safe efficient movement of material from the Quay side to the storage area and then subsequent management and load out of materials. All while ensuring environmental controls are managed.

The role briefly encompasses the following:-

  • Coordinate aggregate movements from Quay to Pad, stock control and stock management on the operational pad
  • Oversee all aggregate movements and crushing
  • Maintain all aggregate is stowed and identified as requested with the client
  • Stockyard general management
  • Operating loading shovels, tractor bowser and site based equipment
  • Look after all the plant on site to include servicing and repairs
  • Loading and unloading inbound and outbound HGV’s
  • Promote HIS core safety values
  • Work closely with all areas to implement policies and strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Identify improvements for operational and commercial performance
  • Assist with coordinating team activities to meet agreed quality standards
  • Mentor and develop operational and support staff in the standards and processed expected
  • Carrying out inspections, audits and housekeeping
  • Join in team briefings and safety meetings and delivering to the team

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:-

  • Full UK driving licence
  • FEL (front end loader) licence
  • Tractor licence and familiarisation
  • Strong operational background with understanding of materials handling
  • Competent people management skills
  • Health and Safety experience
  • Experience with mobile plant and in handling and screening products
  • Good attitude, polite and effective communication skills
  • A team player, able to work alongside others but also work alone
  • Works well under pressure with the ability to face challenges and timescales
  • Ability to communicate professionally at varying levels both internally and externally
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn new skills
  • Excellent paperwork and documentation skills
  • Reliable and willing to be flexible
  • Night and varied shifts will be required at times dependent on inbound vessel movements to the site
  • Ability to think fast and adapt to quickly changing circumstances
