A vacancy has arisen for an Operations Manager, to join our team.
The Operations Manager oversees multiple UK locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all operational activities. The role is accountable for safety, commercial performance, client engagement, and overall contract delivery- managing site-based teams to ensure operational excellence.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties:-
Operational Leadership
- Deliver all operational services safely, legally, and in compliance with company and contractual requirements.
- Ensure appropriately trained and sufficient resources are in place across each contract.
- Provide direct line management to Supervisors and site teams.
- Maintain consistent operational standards across all assigned locations.
- Ensure accurate and timely operational reporting and record keeping.
Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
- Lead SHEQ performance across all contracts.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement ethos within teams.
- Ensure all audits (internal, external, and client led) are completed within required timeframes.
Financial and Commercial Management
- Maintain full financial control of each contract.
- Ensure monthly contract performance remains on or above budget.
- Support business growth initiatives and contribute to the development of business cases and proposals.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, increase value to clients, and enhance profitability.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong, professional relationships with Client Contract Managers.
- Attend and contribute to operational and contract review meetings (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Prepare and present professional reports, proposals, and performance updates.
- Retain complete records of contractual communications.
Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement
- Actively contribute to annual business planning for each contract.
- Drive continuous improvement across all operational areas.
- Communicate Group and Head Office information effectively to site teams.
- Foster a collaborative approach across all aligned contracts.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-
Experience & Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in delivering materials handling or similar industrial operations.
- Strong operational leadership experience across multi site functions.
- Experience in Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience implementing behavioural safety techniques.
- Commercial awareness including budget management and reconciliation.
- Passport to Safety, IOSH Managing Safely, or NEBOSH qualifications (desirable but not essential).

- Ability to create, analyse, and present management reports and client presentations.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting challenging deadlines.
