As Planning and Project Control Manager, you will lead our delivery teams in the safe, productive and profitable delivery of earthworks at Sizewell C. You’ll shape and drive a high-performing team, ensuring plans are executed efficiently and projects are delivered to the highest standards whilst acting as the day-to-day face of the project to represent our values and mission to build strong relationships with stakeholders and the wider supply chain.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and oversee the safe delivery of earthworks.
- Ensure delivery on time, within budget, and in line with KPI targets.
- Identify and implement efficiencies in delivery techniques to ensure the Price for Work Done remains below the Total of the Prices.
- Build and motivate a strong delivery team, enabling all members to fulfil their potential.
- Maintain excellent stakeholder relations and act as the primary liaison with clients and partners.
- Work closely with Blackwell’s Central Support, Commercial, and Health & Safety teams to ensure a coordinated approach across all disciplines.
- Take ownership of your section, ensuring safe and efficient operations every day.
- Ensure all vehicles, plant, equipment, and tools under your control are compliant with statutory inspections and Blackwell policies.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in linear earthworks, ideally within a high-speed rail environment.
- In-depth knowledge of modern earthmoving methods, plant, outputs, and technologies.
- Strong understanding of earthworks specifications, materials handling, and operational constraints.
- Proficient in producing resourced programmes and budgets.
- Commercial awareness with strong organisational and document management skills, particularly with NEC contracts.
- Solid knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental law, and employment law including Working Rule Agreement T&Cs.
- Relevant CSCS card required.
